As the oldest kid in a household that could have 40 people at times, Vijaya learned early the responsibility and power that comes with leadership. “At Cisco, I became a manager within two years, and I think it had a lot to do with my childhood where I had to be a leader for my siblings and younger cousins. Having that responsibility at a young age shaped me.” Vijaya held executive roles leading engineering, product management and information security at various SaaS, security and tech companies such as Cisco, Fireeye and Lookout. Today she’s the Head of Engineering & Data Science for Trust & Safety, Chief Security Officer at Airbnb. She has a mantle of commendations, including being named one of the Top 25 Women in SaaS for 2018 and Top Revolutionary Women in Security 2019.
