DIVERSITY & INCLUSION | Learn strategies to go beyond “checking the box” to build high-performing teams
Diversity & Inclusion | Two sides of the same coin. Sometimes it can be more challenging to manage—and be on—a diverse team, but the payoff for you and your organization is totally worth it. Join us on Oct 21 at 1 pm (PST) for our TARATALK with Puja Jaspal—the Senior Vice President, People & Communities at Cisco, and learn how to build high-performing, diverse teams.
Puja Jaspal’s wired to drive people to reach their full potential, with her ability to listen, understand, guide and turn every challenge into an opportunity. She’s an HR leader at Cisco, but she also brings a unique perspective, as she’s also an engineer. “I can speak the language of our business leaders and understand what we need to do to run our business, but also bridge that by being strategic about managing the people side of the equation.” That includes helping leaders build and manage diverse teams. And not just the leaders. Individual members need to understand and embrace the commitment to diversity and inclusion for everyone’s efforts to pay off. “The magic is when you hire a diverse team, AND you effectively manage the diversity, then you get two times the result,” says Puja. “But if you don’t, you’re going to get a worse result than if you had a homogeneous team. And so, I think there’s real power in that understanding, and it’s something we all must get better at. It’s just a blind spot.” Join in the conversation between Puja and Gotara founder and CEO, D. Sangeeta and discover how you can help facilitate change by owning your responsibility, irrespective of your position in an organization.
