This year’s theme for International Women’s Day was #ChoosetoChallenge. Sometimes the challenge you take on is with yourself. Our TARATALK guest, Dr. Malika Grayson, will share her strategies to overcome imposter syndrome with Founder and CEO D Sangeeta. Grayson is the first Black American woman to receive a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell and she’s passionate about making sure self-doubt doesn’t deter anyone from achieving their STEM goals. She’s the author of Hooded: A Black Girl’s Guide to the PhD and a Fortune 100 Global Speaker. She’s also the founder of STEMinist Empowered, an organization focused on the empowerment of Black women who pursue graduate degrees. “I want women to know how to overcome imposter syndrome,” says Grayson. “I remind myself that I’m not being a STEM advocate for me, but I am doing it so the next woman, the girl that looks like me, knows that it can be done.”
