Dr. Chloe Lim was always interested in science and was fascinated with studying the human body. Ultimately, she wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. But one thing tended to hold her back from living her whole self—speaking up. As a young child growing up in Malaysia, she was influenced by cultural norms—do not confront or challenge others, and in academic circles, be very critical of yourself when you make a mistake. Nevertheless, she overcame this subconscious programming to get out of her comfort zone and step up in her career with confidence. Join us on May 18 at 3:00 pm PT to learn how she broke through and succeeded.
Dr. Lim is a Senior Scientific Evaluator for the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science from Victoria University of Wellington, followed by Honours in Medical Science and a Doctorate of Philosophy, Medical Science from The Australian National University. She worked in academia for over 14 years before transitioning into government.
