Julie DeWane grew up in a family of six children, had a passion for mathematics and science, and learned early on how to compete. A trigger event was a professor at university who said she would never be successful in engineering at the prestigious school she had chosen. Her response? Really? Just watch me! Julie went on to thrive in challenging circumstances and navigated a tremendous career. She has specific advice for women in STEM+ to use their passion and succeed. Julie is currently the Group Vice President Global Operations, Life Science Solutions at Thermo Fisher Scientific. She has a BS in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University, an MBA from Boston University, and an MS in Industrial Engineering from University of Cincinnati.
